Some individuals dealing with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) have reported finding this application useful for tracking and addressing symptoms.
Adjust the desired BPM threshold by turning the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch. Subsequently, you will receive both audio and tactile alerts when your heart rate surpasses the threshold, as well as when it drops back below your set level.
You can opt to activate the Background Mode feature to continue receiving haptic and auditory feedback based on your heart rate even after lowering your wrist or exiting the application.
By enabling the Persistent Alerts option, you will receive consistent haptic and auditory notifications every two seconds while your heart rate remains above the established threshold. Otherwise, if you prefer uninterrupted heart rate monitoring without alerts, you have the option to deactivate them entirely.
This application is also compatible with Bluetooth chest strap heart rate monitors, such as the Polar H10, when paired with your Apple Watch. This setup can help conserve your Apple Watch's battery life when utilizing Background Mode for extended periods, since the watch's heart rate sensor will not be continuously active. Additionally, this enables you to continue receiving audio feedback through your Apple Watch or view your heart rate on the screen even when not wearing it, such as during charging.
Please note that Background Mode cannot operate simultaneously with a Workout initiated in another application. For example, if you activate Background Mode in Beat Watcher and subsequently start an Outdoor Run Workout in the native Workouts app, Beat Watcher will not remain active in the background.
This application mandates watchOS 8 or later, requiring an Apple Watch Series 3 or newer model.
